Financial pressures, relational strains, packed schedules, and of course there&#8217;s food EVERYWHERE!  When you are trying your best to stay healthy this can be a difficult time to navigate. Busy schedules, increased stress and lack of sleep can actually cause food cravings to increase, and not in a good way-we end up craving more fats and sweets!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what can we do? Is there any hope?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">YES! Here are a few tips to help you navigate this upcoming holiday season and stay healthy in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Make a plan!<\/strong>  For every meal, party or get together, have a plan!  For example, if you have a company holiday party coming up that know will be filled with unhealthy snacks and sweet treats be sure to eat ahead of time so that you are not hungry and will be less tempted to submit to your cravings.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Don&#8217;t make too much!<\/strong> I&#8217;m not sure why I do it, but I usually prepare WAY too much food for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals-it&#8217;s nice to have the table full, but let&#8217;s be honest, I end up eating left overs for a WEEK! Having one thanksgiving meal is fine and nothing to feel bad about, but eating a Thanksgiving meal for a week straight is definitely going to put a dent on your health goals.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Bring healthy options! <\/strong>If there is a party that you are attending, bring some healthy options! You know there will be lots of sweet and calorically dense treats, so you be the one that brings the healthy option, even if it is only you that ends up eating it!<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Look at menus ahead of time! <\/strong> If eating out, look up the menu of the place you are eating and decide AHEAD of time what you will eat. That way you can be led by your rational mind and not whatever your mood is when you get to the restaurant. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These are just a few tips to help you get through the holidays!
