The Château des Siècles, originally a fortified stronghold and still encircled by its medieval walls, sits high above the Burgundian countryside overlooking the waterways of the Yonne River and the Nivernais Canal. Perched on a cliff edge, the château benefits from unobstructed views stretching for miles around. The estate is accessible through a large electronically-operated gate ensuring complete privacy.
Within its walls, Château des Siècles unfolds as a complex of five distinct buildings gathered around a spacious central courtyard. Each building is from a different century, hence the name the “Castle of the Centuries”

The vaulted medieval caves from the 13th Century are at the heart of the fortress are perhaps its most striking feature — once dark and cold, now reborn as suites with monumental fireplaces, period furniture, and all the comforts of modern luxury.

Above them sits the 19th-century main house, with terraces on both sides that capture the light, frame the views, and make the most of the dramatic cliff-edge setting.

There are also 17th-century “commons”, two adjoining buildings that once housed stables and servants, now resplendent with three bedrooms.

The pavilions are airy, light-filled studios with their own kitchens.

The Annexe is a separate 19ᵗʰ-century mansion perched just a three-minute walk from the main château, giving a sweet balance of proximity and seclusion.

THE CAVES
Hidden deep within the heart of the limestone cliffs, the Château des Siècles offers a rare and unforgettable experience in its two enchanting cave rooms. Carved directly into the rock during the 13th Centrury, these unique chambers combine historic charm with modern comfort. Sleep within ancient stone walls while gazing out to sweeping valley views. This expansive cave suite feels timeless, romantic, and unlike anywhere else — a sanctuary carved from history, yet with all the comforts of modern living. Largest of the Cave suites.

Suite de la Source (Spring Suite)

Tucked just off the château’s courtyard, our two charming Pavilion studios offer the perfect blend of privacy and elegance. Bright, airy, and thoughtfully designed, each Pavilion features a queen-size bed, a cozy sitting area, a private kitchenette, and its own en-suite bathroom. Pavilon de la Rivière (Riverside Pavilion)

THE COMMONS
Just beyond the château’s main grounds stands the Commons, a beautifully restored stone residence that once served as the heartbeat of the estate. Today, it has been transformed into a charming guesthouse with three spacious rooms, each blending rustic elegance with refined comfort. Exposed beams, warm wood accents, and thoughtful details echo the history of its working past, while plush bedding and modern amenities ensure every stay is as indulgent as it is authentic. Tucked just beside the main château, the Annexe offers the perfect blend of charm, comfort, and privacy. With eight individually styled en-suite rooms, it’s ideal for families, groups of friends, or retreat guests who want to stay close together while still enjoying their own private space. Each room has its own personality — from the light-filled Chambre du Soleil to the romantic Chambre de la Lune — giving the Annexe a boutique feel within the grand estate. Just steps from the château’s heart, it allows guests to share in the community of château life while retreating to their own quiet haven at the end of the day.
